Hello, I am looking for a "gaming" keyboard that has backlit keys. I need it for when I am typing in the dark, so it needs to be able to dim, and preferably change colors too. (I like teal. :)) It also needs to be responsive, but quiet/silent keys, so it isn't full gaming. I love this one, but is looks to be around $149.99, and I am hoping for more like $49.99. I liked this one, but one comment said it was cheaply made, and after watching the video I agree.
So now I am looking for one that is well made, cheap, and has led keys. Wish me luck, right? So now I settle for second best. I prefer this order price>quality>LED, but it does need LEDs, or there is no point in it as I have a good keyboard right now. So now it comes to you guys, I have no ideas left. I might go for the manticore because it is shiny, but I hope there is a better alternative. Thanks for all suggestions.

Hands down it would be the microsoft sidewinder x4 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...idewinder%20x4, its leds dont change color though but it has amazing anti ghosting for a non mechanical keyboard.
Looks pretty good. I am currently using the stock DELL keyboard that came with my PC. It's ok, but not that good. I like the keys on that one, but 1 review said that they dimmed, but didn't mention turning off. EDIT: It's in details, they do turn off. I am going to look at that U7 some more, and if it seems to be made with the same (apparently amazing) quality, and it is $99 I will look into that, otherwise I like the sidewinder. Just really sad about no blue keys, but not a deal breaker. Going to do more "research."

I had sidewinder x6 but it had ghosting issues (pretty bad in FPS) so I got a sidewinder x4 for like $35 on sale. I'd buy another as backup if I see it on sale again. No point wasting money on one that's no better imo (i.e. the x6 was 3-4x the price and not as good, it is sitting on the desk beside me unused for like 2 years). I also do a lot of typing for work on it and I like it for that as well.

sidenote, the paint on the keys doesnt wear out on the x4 like it did on x6 either, and trust me if it was going to wear off it would have by now (my x6 asdf keys are basically just clear plastic).

I like my Deck Legend 105. They're a bit pricey and doesn't fit all of your criteria but it's hands down IMO the highest build quality I've seen of any of the light up keyboards and just keyboards in general. I've had mine now for nearly 7 years heavy usage and gaming and it's still holding up just fine.

Sidewinder X4 is good, dims but it is red. As you can see I have one.

Luxeed has horrible software (crazy memory leaks, requires admin rights to run, doesn't scale fonts properly...), otherwise my Mk5 is great.
They may bring out a mechanical version of the U7 next year, they did a small sounding effort on their site, but no feedback was given whether the required number of pre-orders were had.
Of course, $200 is quite a step up.
