I want a good external hd for my brother in law. I know I could make one for him but I want one that has good software with it and is user friendly for someone without any computer knowledge for backups. I want a good brand and one with good warranty and easy to use. Thanks.
 
Hi, not sure if this is of use, but I too want an external HDD, but I'm thinking of an ethernet jobbie that plugs into your switch/router. That way anyone can backup to it!

Western Digital have a good one. Dont know any US sites to show you though...
 
They are called NAS and not only WD but all the others like Maxtor, Seagate make them too. They are not that expensive anymore either... You can find them in newegg.com
