Can anyone recommend a good Ethernet card for under $25. Also include the web address were I can get it. Oh and i also posted in the networking Category .
Like Zemmervolt said you can get some decent ones for $10-$20, but if you want a really good ones then some guy in the for sale forum has some Intel for $40 bucks shipped brand new.
I persoanlly like Linksys, they have all the features and are quite affordable. 3Com and Intel are also very good but both tend to be a fair bit more pricey....
My friend has a netgear card and it seems to work very well for him, so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, especially if you can get it for $20
I have the exact same Netgear NIC that you are referring to on MWave. It has been a great card for me and my 2 computer home network (running @ 100mbps)
I don't think you can go wrong with Netgear cards. . .
thanks again for the replies. Also what do you think of this one NETGEAR 10BT/100BTX FA312 PCI $19.00? According to the specs on mwave it has wake on lan and support for WIn 98, which is not listed on the FA310TX.
Its the updated version of the 310. Buy it instead if its the same price or even alittle more. I have the 310 version and transfered about 3 gigs in about 14 minutes. Not bad at all. Netgear rocks.
