Looking for a good dual layer DVD Burner

There are no native SATA optical drives that I'm aware of at the moment. There is a Plextor that has a SATA bridge chip and SATA connectors. You can also buy PATA to SATA adapters for roughly $15-25.

I've read lots of posts in many forums as well as CDinfo and CDfreaks. It seems that NEC 3520A, BenQ 1620 Pro and LG 4163B are top 3 dual-layer DVD burner. Do you have any idea?

If you don't mind paying a little extra I would go with a Plextor, I have both the 716SA and 716A and am very happy with both. Sometimes you can find them on sale w/a rebate.

I'm having great luck with my Plex 716A and the $30.00 rebate makes it all the more sweeter. Well worth it IMHO.
Best source of info on burners and thier price/perf is here:

I see that the Plextor 716A has been mentioned several times. Dittos.

As for SATA, Plextor is the only one currently selling a SATA burner. As others have said there are PATA>SATA drive adapters but make sure if you go that route that is supports ATAPI drives as the adapters are generally designed for hard drives. Also be sure your mobo or SATA controller card supports ATAPI drives. Not very many do and Plextor has a not very up to date list of compatible mobos and controllers on their web site.
