A group of 4 to 6 of us at work like to game together Wednesday nights. We've played Dungeon Defenders, Torchlight 2, and we're playing through Borderlands 2 now. We're starting to think about our next game as we're almost done with Borderlands. Any suggestions?

I'd like to avoid more Diablo clones, Torchlight 2 was extremely boring for me. Several guys won't do an MMO, RTS or a shooter like Call of Duty - unless maybe it has a co-op mode where it's just 4 to 6 of us.

Any ideas? I haven't kept real up to date with what's out there. Most of my knowledge of what's available comes from the advertisements on Steam.

Reaching back in time here. For 4 people, a solid game is Alien Swarm. Either the new one or the old one (UT2004).

Dungeon Defenders and Borderlands are great games, that I see you have already played.

That's kinda your problem as unless you run private servers you will have a hard time playing a lot of the recent games with just your group alone.

Why not join the same team for fps games and kill the other team? :p

Otherwise have you tried minecraft?

Building together can be a lot of fun not to mention making some kind of pvp wars against each other and such.

But doing it just one day a week may not be enough and with a decent server you can set aside enough of your own land that would be kept safe and roam around on the map during other days to look at other peoples buildings.

There are surprisingly few >6 player coop, it's almost always 4 player.

For FPS you might consider Killing floor which is a good survival horror coop for up to 6 players. Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 are both 4 player coop or 4v4 vs coop, you can also mod your server to allow larger teams which crazy and less balanced but nevertheless fun, 8v8 coop is hilarious.

Another >4 player I played yesterday was a small game still in beta called Damned, it's a survival horror where 4 players cooperate to escape a haunted hotel, a 5th person plays the part of the monster which has to lay traps to scare the survivors and spawn in physical form adn chase them and kill them. It's super scary and super fun both as the monster and a survivor, I'd highly recommend this game, even though it's beta atm.

The Zombie modes for Call of Duty are wave based zombie survival for 4 people, they can be good for a challenge to see how far you get, pretty intense gaming and good fun.

I host a Minecraft server, which I enjoy playing, but it's a little boring for our game night. I forgot to mention we already played Left for Dead 2. I was looking at Killing Floor last night. I may give that a shot. Some of the guys just aren't into the realistic shooters, otherwise I'd suggest CS:GO.
