Looking for a good carpet/steam cleaner

looking for a really powerful steam cleaner, industrial strength...... not that crappy dirt devil or hoover stuff out there. any one got any suggestions/recommendations?

I picked one of these up and don't think it works very well. I guess it depends on what you're trying to clean up. I bought this unit thinking it would help having 3 boys & 3 large dogs. It doesn't do squat against the 6 of them. I hate paying for it, but plunking down the $$ and renting a big rig from Home Repot is the only thing that comes close for me.

I bought that at Costco(luckily) and returned it after a couple of uses. It would pull out threads out of my carpets.

I've rented the Rug Doctor a couple of times and have been happy using it.

:confused: Are you using in right? Mine cleans the carpet way better than those rental machines. We run it about once a month and our carpet still looks brand new after 2 years.

My parents have one of these. We have borrowed it a few times to clean up after our dogs, and I think it works great.
