I came in here to suggest Bulletstorm. That will be my suggestion for everything now. They need help so they can make an even crappier sequel.

I'd suggest Alice: Madness Returns.

Beautiful world, engaging gameplay, complex level design (definitely a platformer), and it took me something like 50 hours to beat.

As with most 3rd-person platformers, I'd suggest using a controller. My Logitech worked right out of the box.

Rayman Origins isn't 3rd person, but it's pretty fun and has multiplayer (and local co-op) to boot.

Max Payne series is similar to Alan Wake and Gears in that they are 3rd Person action shooters. Splinter Cell and the Riddick games (Butcher Bay/Dark Athena) are in the same genre.

I really liked that game.....and it's one of the few games I've ever played that had good hair physics. Actually....really cool hair physics.

JustCause2 is a pretty good TPS / open-world adventure game, and it's usually pretty cheap on STEAM.

Fluid physics were really cool too. They were all based off of Nvidia's PhysX engine, which is why they looked so nice.

Just Cause 2 is a good option as well.

Even though they were also on consoles, the Prince of Persia games are a ton of fun.

They are on PCs as well and Ubisoft have done a good job porting the three POP games to the PC, as controls are tight.

And POP Warrior Within is hands down the best 3d platformer ive ever played.

Warrior Within is hands down the weakest of the Prince of Persia games.

Maybe according to you, but i think it was the best amongst the three. It broke away from the casual and not-so-serious prince to a dark prince. i frankly loved it and it is the best platforming game I'VE ever played.

I couldn't stand it. Not even worth the 2.50 I paid. Everything it tried to do, Deus Ex HR did properly.
