Alright folks, I've been out of the gaming loop for a while now and recently I've ben feeling the urge to play me some video games but I don't know what all is out there so I need some suggestions. I don't have the patience to sit down and learn 8 million keys just to play a video game, so are there any fun, simple games in existance?

Here are some of the games that I used to play:

Starcraft
Counterstrike
Diablo & Diablo 2
Rollcage
Mechwarrior 1 & 2

I like racing games, role-playing games, and some FPS', so given my taste in games what do you fine folks of Anandtech suggest?

I've been playing and ENJOYING (oh, god, yes) Dark Age of Camelot. MMORPG, if you're into those at all. If you start playing, look for me on the Bors server. Realm Hibernia, name is Wangea. no wang jokes, please. HA

I second Revolt. It's a little old, but it still has sweet graphics and is a LOT of fun to play. I'm not big into racing games, but Revolt won me over.

If you don't want a million keys to remember, you're going to have to utilize console gaming. I recommend Grand Theft Auto 3, and a PS2 if you don't have one ;)

A really simple and addictive game for the computer would be Bridge Builder.

ummmm, what exactly is MMorpg? I've heard the term before but I can't for the life of me remember what it means.

kamiam, SaltBoy.....

I remember when revolt came out.....I was going to buy it but for some reason I changed my mind. I'll have to check it out :)

PliotronX.....

As much as I would like to buy a PS2, I just can't justify the purchase at this point. With the GameCube and the Xbox coming out I really want to wait and see what they'll be like before I buy anything. I've got the money to buy all 3 but I'd rather hold out for a little bit longer just to see how the plying field levels out.

I do have a Dreamcast though, so are there any "simple" games for it? I've got NFL2k1, Crazy Taxi 1 & 2, Spiderman (this game was simple and fun, my favorite combination :)), Wetrix+, Hydro Thunder, Dead or Alive 2, House of the Dead 2, Worms, Worms World Party (both games are a hoot), MDK2, Sega GT, and a couple others that I just can't remember right now :)

BDawg....

I guess there's nothing wrong with Diablo 2, I'm just looking for something different. I'll keep the expansion pack in mind if I don't find anything else :D

Red Faction has been keeping me busy for awhile. It's an FPS, and as far as I'm concerned, it's the next Half-Life. Some awesome mods are being worked on for it, and even without them it rules. Give it a shot.

Edit:

I'm still all about starcraft...........red faction is good too, multiplayer is kinda weird, it's super easy to die but single player is awesome, I like the interactive backrounds

Commandos 2 is fun, but before you figure out all the keys and stuff it's way confusing. But once you get it down it's alot of fun.

My friend told me about Red Faction and he said he loved it. I'll have to add it to my list. Maybe I'll download the demo (if one exists) and check it out.

If Dark Age of Camelot is an online RPG, does that mean that I'd get charged a monthly fee just like Everquest, or does it offer free online play like Diablo 1/2?

Muadib.....

I never really got into the whole Sim genre. I tried a couple of times but it just wasn't my cup of tea. Thanks for the suggestion though! :)

rubix,Alienwho......

I'll check and see if I can find a demo version of Thief 2 and Commandos 2. I remember playing the first Thief and it was pretty fun.

Does that game have any replay value? I was reading the reviews when it first came out and while it sounded pretty fun, it also seemed like it would get boring after a while. I love puzzle games like that, but if it's got no replay value then I might be better off spending my money elsewhere.
