Supposedly, the ATI HDTV Wonder works best in conjunction with a DirectX 9 Radeon. What's the best fanless card? This is strictly for an HTPC, so gaming is not an issue. Just a fanless Radeon 9600 or higher (no AIW).

Any recommendations? cost? online store to buy from?

Going to research it myself now, but figured I'd ask here also :)

edit: forgot to mention it needs to be AGP

9600 will probably be the choice! or the X1300 id imagine that can come passively cooled to since its got no power and is on the 90nm fab

A good share of 9600/9550 are fanless. Newegg has a good selection. I'd stay away from the 64bit models.

Thanks,

Looking at this one right now. seems to be the cheapest 128bit non-refurb (I have trouble buying refurb electronics) SAPPHIRE Radeon 9600 ATLANTIS.

let me know if you think of a better choice. also forgot to mention that DVI out is a must.

Yea, I don't see any less expensive fanless DX9 Radeons with 128bit memory and DVI.

Sapphire's 9600 is a good choice. I've used quite a few of those. They're fanless and have a big enough heatsink to actually work stable like that.
As with every quiet-PC attempt, please make sure you got /some/ airflow in the case. Make an effort to tuck all the ribbon cables out of the way neatly.

This is going in a Shuttle SN41G2 so it's pretty tight. I'll whip out the dremel and create some new airflow if need be :)
