Looking for a dvd recorder

Hello, I am looking for a decent dvd recorder. My primary concern (over replacing my VCR) is having the ability to use the VCR control function on my hd receiver. I can't stress how much I use one touch recording, with just setting up the HD receiver without having to setup the VCR programming. Anyone know if a dvd recorder would work if I put the VCR IR controller on it (and somehow figured out which VCR to choose)? I really need this function. Anyone have any other suggestions?

dvd recorder's are not COMPUTER related hardware. Dvd burners are COMPUTER related. Thanks for the post though 😉
