Looking for a drill/hand-powered liquid pump

I've seen them before so I know they exist.

I'm looking for a drill or hand-powered pump for moving liquid. It looks like a small box with an input shaft sticking out, and on either end are connections for hoses.

You connect the hoses from the source and destinations to the pump, then chuck the input shaft into the drill. The drill turning the shaft powers the pump and moves your liquid from one container to the other. A hand pump would work too.

I have a heater that uses diesel fuel. I buy the diesel and move it in 5-gallon gas cans to the house. Lifting those cans about 5 feet in the air (to reach the tank filler port) and tipping them and HOLDING them until they empty is not exactly easy.

Home Depot or Lowes should have them, but IIRC, the drill pumps are not recommended for fuel transfer. If you have a NAPA store in your area, they should be able to get you the hand pumps.

You'll need one that is certified for fuel oils, not just any one will do.

Thanks, BoomerD and Eli. I didn't think about the "fuel certified" part, but you're right. Rubber seals/o-rings and such need to be certified for fuel transfer as they are corrosive to normal seals. I'll keep this in mind.

Anyone have a source for such a device?

"transfer pump"... I wouldn't worry about fuel rated, or whatever... diesel isn't much more volatile than milk.
