I'm about 50 miles from a metro and they have some great radio stations that I can easily pick up in my car, but when I get into work, I can't get them on my desktop radio.

Does anyone have anything that gets above-par reception and still maintatins a small footprint on the desk?

If I can get one with a docking station for my ipod / iphone, that would be super, but not 100% necessity.

It might be the building you're in that's blocking reception. You could possibly improve the antenna's reception with tinfoil.

Or just look for internet streams.

Your work location probably is a building with steel beams, etc., that effectively block the signal. Are you trying to get AM or FM? FM is easily blocked - it is basically a LOS signal. Try being near a window.

It is a matter of a good antenna, not necessarily the radio. But, these have as good a reception as any, and some have antenna flexibility.

I'm in an old brick building, about 10' from a window.

I can't stream internet radio at work, unfortunately. I want to listen to some talk radio on AM as well as FM music stations.

Thanks for the link corkyg!

For AM, you can jujst hang a wire on, out, or near the window, and connect that to your radio antenna.

The old brick building probably has steel girders in the floor and ceiling.
