Looking for a desktop cards that outperform laptop GTX 460M.

Hey guys. I'm am trying to figure out what level of desktop cards from and/nv are at or exceed the performance of the mobile 460m so I can start planning my next computer. Thanks.
 
Look at the number of CUDA cores or shaders and then see what desktop card has as many or more.

The 460M has 192 CUDA cores.

The desktop Geforce GTS 450 has just as many, and they are clocked at higher clockspeeds. So you're looking at a GTS 450 or higher card. They're only $100 so it won't be difficult to exceed that performance.

The AMD equivalent would be the HD 5750 or higher.

Thats why it's almost always a bad decision to pour money into a gaming laptop unless you absolutely need the mobility. You can speed 3K on a laptop today and still get owned by a desktop 1/3 the price.
