Under $100 CDN. I'm looking to get the Altec Lansing 221 system, or the Logitech X-220. Any suggestions?

UPDATE: Got the X-220s. They sound a hell of a lot better than my previous Cambridge FPS1000 (which is ass).

The AL should be suffice :D I have a really old Yamaha 2.1 setup. Damn sweet, paid $70 (US) for it back in '98. If $100 is all you can spare there's none better than Altec Lansing, plus they look pretty damn cool.

IFyou had the $$, I'd recommend the Klipsch's 2.1 with over 200 WATTS (I think) :D

/Recently bought the Logitech z640 and Lovin' It :D

Listened to the AL at BB. Of course there was the music blaring from the DVD/TV section and other noises in the background. But not really in a room or quiet setting.

Is the Logitech model a new version? I've only heard of the z340.

I love my Altec Lansing ATP3 that have for almost 3 years now, and I just bought my gf a pair of Altec Lansing 221 this fall that sound just about as good as the ATP3 at mid range, but the bass is so much nicer.

My good buddy have a pair of those flat panel Monsoon & they sound quite good.

Personally I would go with the 221 for a system that is below $100.00 CAD for the punch in games, because music sound much better from my $2400.00 home speakers.

Good thing you went Logitech. I've had 3 sets of AL, and they all suck when compared with Logitech, Creative, and Klipsch setups. (ATP3, 221, and 4100 AL setups)

I now have Logitech Z-680s, and fortunately the guy downstairs is almost deaf. :)
