I've searched this topic, but was hoping to get responses that relate to me more directly. I know it's Strange but at 34 i've never actually had a Credit Card. A couple of department store card's though. Anyhow i'm looking for something for moderate use.( buying school clothes for starter's) I've done some research. I know alot of people here like Amex Blue. While i anticipate making some online purchases this will be kind of an all purpose card. So i'm looking for good costumer service low APR and no minimal fee's, charges etc. My credit rating is fair, not great but not bad. i think around 600. Any feedback appreciated.

Thank's,
Bo

apply for the citibank AA advantage silver card (not gold, not platinum, not WORLD gold/platinum). You'll have to dig around their site to find the plain old silver one. A friend of mine had like 2 store department cards, and 9 months of history and they gave her a card with $4000 limit instantly. You can then call them up, a day or two later, and change it to the platinum select product, which gives you BT's and the lowest interest rate your credit qualifies for. I think mine is currently 8.5% or round-about and i have some 2.9% BT rates.

Easiest card to get. I think they even give you the card # online nowadays.

here is the link to apply online
