Hi, i am looking for a Cool looking case.
good ventilation

side window
aluminum
easy access.
u name them.

i can't afford a $200 case(include PSU).

**how much of power do i need for the PSU? true 300w or 350w or more?

as long as it is cheap and good looking.
then good ventilation.

i think i will put some neon light, but is it a good idea for OC?
i know the neon light may not release that much of heat but at least it is a tube of light.

oh ya, what color of case is cool, what do u think?
now i am using some old InWin 17" case for my P3, and looking for a new case for my P4.

some case i may not buy but don't worth to take a look so
any websites and pictures that i can take a look first?

oh the Thermaltake case that Anandtech banner is flying is quite cool, but i believe it is over $200

thanks

i have this case and i love it

it's aluminum, has the side window, and has easy acces (the motherboard tray slides out). there is only room for two fan, so what i'm planning on doin is cutting some holes in the panels and adding a few 120mm fans. as for lights, it doesnt effect your OC one way or another, as long as you have a nice PSU. as for color, get what YOU think looks best. since it's your case, you have to like the color. for the PSU, i would get a 380W antec true power from newegg for $72 and your set

still kinda pricy.

i like shady's case.

the glass(plastic) is cool.!! but only for decoration, rite?

i like a fan that can be installed onto the window(side)

so more air can go in or out .

i believe aluminum is a better material for cooling down.

but that case, glenn1, i like that case.

side windows, even a 400watt psu. and even more, only $24 + S&H.

want to know, what color of cdrom should i get? black or white if the case is silver?

The metal aluminum cools better than steel, but this advantage does not apply to cases unless you have some extremely hot case or something. Dont expect a lot of quality from a $24 case. Also, I wouldnt trust one of those PSUs and the 400W it is rated as doesnt mean much. A 300W Antec will likely destroy it in quality and longevity.

CompGeeks silver case w/window, LED fan, and 400w PS, $23.65 + ship after $10 rebate

Great deal. I picked up the black Powmax case from Compgeeks a few weeks ago for a little over $40 with shipping. Yes, it's a bit flimsy...yes, it isn't a high quality psu...but for the price, It's extremely difficult to beat this deal. The biggest problem for me was just working in a small case vs. my full tower rig. At first I was going to take out the led rear fan, but I decided it looked so good I just left it in there.

Depending on your needs, I don't think you'd be disappointed with this one, but that's all IMHO of course, so grain of salt and all that. ;)

I actually just spray painted my optical drive bezels with a $3 can of silver paint from Home Depot and it looks pretty good. You can ask around in the forums how to do that if you've not done it before. If you still don't feel comfortable painting them, black would probably look better IMHO.

The quality isn't that bad. Powmax makes the best inexpensive cases out there IMO. I switched from an Antec 830SX-II to this case for various reasons (silver color vs. beige, the window, and about 1/3 the cost) and have been pretty well satisfied. Yes, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a Lian Li or Antec case, but it's not a total POS either.

As for the power supply, yes, i prefer an Antec too, but the one in this unit is decent. I switched it out for quiet reasons with an Antec PP303X that i have modded with a Panaflo, but that's because noise is a big issue for me and i don't require the best of the best. The Powmax 400w that's in here would be fine for most users, and nothing says you can't upgrade later. Heck, you could probably buy the case for $24 + ship, and sell the PS in it to some knucklehead on Ebay and recover most of your costs.

Faye, if you think this case may work for you, why not spin down to your local mom-n-pop store and see if they have it (or another near-identical one from the same manufacturer) where you can take a look at it before you purchase? Almost every dealer i saw at the last computer show i went to had this manufacturer's cases for sale, most of them are virtually identical but for the token details like color, power supply rating, and what the front bezel looks like; internally the same chassis gets used for all their cases (as far as i've seen). If you don't like it, you won't be out any $ :)

the case is really tempting.!!!

does this case support slide motherboard?

may i ask what is the peak power that the PSU will handle?

what is the brand of the PSU? is it trustable?

i mean will a bad PSU burn all the parts of the PC?

ya, my local stores do have a similar case, but without the side window, without the 400watt psu, ...

what do u think if i paint the face plate of the cdrom to a silver(shiny) color?

ps. can u guys do me a favour, in that page, find(ctrl+f), use "slide" as the word.
see if u will hang there.

thanks

very lucky, i found the exact same case as glenn1 said.

looks good. it costs $65cad, like $43us.

the case does look very very good, but at this moment, i like a black case more. since i have my speaker go black, my keyboard and mouse are black, my monitor is going to be black. so may be a black case a better match.

talking face plate, i think a black one is easier to get... otherwise i can spray it black.(and it is easier to get a black rather than silver)

so anyone with a black case that can introduce it to me?

glenn1., for the psu, dumb question again, what is the difference btwn the 400watt and a Antec True350 watt?

anyone put a light inside the psu like Antec SmartBlue? is opening a psu dangerous?

thanks
