I can find DVI > Component easily and cheap.

I can't seem to find the reverse. I have 2 Component inputs, but I need a third for my PS2. I have DVI on the TV, but doubt I'll ever use it as such. So, if I can convert the DVI port into a third component hookup, that's swell.

I've found little boxes @ $200, but that's not going to happen.

Thanks!

I would recommend a component switch rather than a converter to s-video/composite/RF that this converter appears to be.

EDIT: Oh, it does have component inputs and outputs according to the reviews :p

Yup, I guarantee it does as I actually bought one myself and was gonna hook up my PS3/Wii setup to my monitor before I found out that my monitor can't take 1080p over component (took it back to Gamestop for a refund). But if component switching is what you need, that is the cheapest solution I know of that works well without hassle.

The problem you are facing is DVI is an Digital and Analog port (The analog is identical to VGA). However for the most part DVI inputs tend to be digital only, since analog inputs are considered older, and if you have a Digital input, you should have a digital source. This is mainly because Video cards with DVI started appearing long before monitors with DVI were everywhere. So it was assumed you already had a DVI outputting video card when you got a DVI inputting monitor.

So basically the analog part is only on the output end typically, meaning even if you went component -> DVI into your TV, it likely wont even see a signal. Course I could be wrong as I have run into a few (Very Few) monitors with Analog input over the DVI port, and even then they only take VGA (RGB signal) and not the component (YCbCr) signal properly.

As mentioned though, you are much better off with a Component switch.

Thanks for the help everyone, I'll look into a switch. Mayhaps I can make use of the DVI some other way.

:)
