I am going on an outdoor cycling expedition trip, and am looking for cheap phones with the following features:

1) Waterproof without the need of a case
2) excellent battery life

I don't care about anything else, such as camera etc, as I am carrying professional camera gear. I simply need something for reading emails, basic web browsing, skype, emergency phone calls. Specs are not important, but I won't compromise on battery life and being waterproof. Happy to consider Chinese phones, or used phones off Ebay.

Just need something as cheap as possible which meets my requirements

Galaxy s5. Not the absolute best battery life, but pretty good, and you can swap them out.

A used S7 (non edge) should be found very cheap and has great water resistance. No phone is waterproof.

Used S8 Active.
I've got one coming in and it's got pretty good reviews, especially the battery life.

My S5 has a 7500 mah battery and my Note 4 has a 11,800. neither are waterproof though...

If waterproofing is a must, expandable batteries are kinda off the table. you could get a waterproof phone and a battery case/battery pack.

My note 8 is ip68, but the tiny battery is pretty underwhelming. Both the S5 and Note 4 can last significantly longer with those big batteries. I do use a big battery pack for the n8, but it loses a lot of efficiency having to charge the main battery.

Newly Launched Poptel P9000 MAX
OS: Android Nougat | Screen size: 5.5-inch | Resolution: 1920 x 1080 pixels | CPU: MT6750V / CT Octa Core 1.5GHz | RAM: 4GB | Storage: 64GB | Battery: 9000mAh | Rear camera: 13MP | Front camera: 5MP | NFC OTG

With IP68, very nice. CPU and camera are its weakest assets, but it looks like a solid phone.

Going to be that guy, but waterproof and water resistant are different. There are many water resistant phones out there (IP 67 or IP 68 rated), but no true water proof phone.
