Looking for a cheap receiver

Can anyone provide some links to a cheap receiver I could use to control the volume on the speakers via remote?

I've searched around a little on Google but haven't come up with anything that fits what I need.

I'm looking to spend around $50 if possible.

Most TVs have an audio out, either RCA or 3.5mm, so you don't need a receiver for PC speakers, as they usually have their own integrated amplifiers. If you use the 3.5mm out port, you can control the volume with the TV's remote. Beyond that you'll have to go with a home theatre receiver as most stereo ones IIRC don't come with remotes.

This is pretty much my current set up. I have an RCA > 3.5 adapter that goes from my TV to my speakers. The problem is that the only volume I can control is the volume of the TV's internal speakers, not the PC speakers. I've played with all of the TV's Audio settings and can't find a way to control the volume of the speakers.

Any suggestions?

Do you have a model number for the TV?

I just want to take a look at the manual to see if there's a way to do this without buying anything.

If your tv has a 3.5mm out, you can use that and control the volume using the tv volume. Otherwise, you can get a cheap receiver from craigslist and use that. The cheapest stereo receivers you can get new are probably going to be around $100.
