Looking For a Case With 8 2.5 Bays

I am looking for a case with at least 8 2.5" drive bays and 2x 5.25 bays.

Any suggestions? The 2.5 bays seem hard to come by.

You're not really going to find a case with 2.5" bays. Your best bet is to use a hot-swap conversion rack like one of these:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...5+swap&x=0&y=0

They come in 3.5" and 5.25" varieties and hold up to 6 drives. The 2 and 4 drive types hold any 2.5" drive. The 6 drive type can only handle up to 9.5mm drives (standard laptop) FYI - SAS drives are taller than this so can only be put in the SAS supporting 2/4 drive type.

It would also be helpful if you listed a budget and intended usage.

Try the NZXT H2. It has 8 3.5 bays and 3 5.25. You won't find one with only 2.5 bays. The 3.5s should be able to mount a 2.5.

If it is SSD's, then mere Fractal Design Define is enough. Their trays take both 2.5" SSD and 3.5" HDD.

For that matter, Lian Li cases from the past two years that use trays can also take both sizes. Examples are the PC-60FN, PC-8FI, PC-7FN, etc.

It is for 8 SSDs.

That rackmount case is nice and would provide for future growth...

go with the racks.
Most are also SAS and SATA compatible.

And unless its a ITX case... you'll have 5-1/4 bays.
So it makes things a lot easier for ya.
