I'm in the market into buying a car. The Thing is I only have about $2000 to spend on the car. I'm going to use it as my daily driver/weekend car since and I'm eventually going to end up restoring the car.Paying for Maintenance isn't a really a huge problem. Since, I can have access to another car most of the time.
So, I found an 89 Manual Ford Taurus SHO for $2000 dollars.
I think I might pull the trigger on that car. So, I guess I came here to ask you guys what cars would you recommend for me to get with a $2000 limit.

i dunno the reliability on that vehicle, but does it HAVE to be a standard???

if not, check out Chevy/Geo Prizms they are down right boring, but damn reliable and perfect daily drivers.

Doesn't matter it can also be an automatic. I was kinda actually looking for a fun car. I really don't need a boring car. I might change my mind though.

Sometimes. I already have a 5 passenger car I can use. Not really interested in a Motorcycle.

I love Miatas. But do you think I can find one for 2 grand. I'm also 6'3 so I don't know if I can fit one. How many miles should I get the car under on?

im 6'3-4 and ive never sat in one so yea... i know there was one guy on here who got one for his daughter...

not sure milage or anything on them.

in reference to the MR-2, that car is very very twitchy especially the earlier ones which like to snap the rear out if you do something stupid with them.

The pre-93 Mk2 Turbos are known for their twitchiness..I hadn't heard much about the 1st-gens, and I haven't noticed anything odd with mine. Then again, I haven't pushed it hard in corners either..it doesn't really have enough power to break the tail end out on you, though - I imagine the only way you'd get into serious trouble is if you let off the gas in a hard/fast corner.
