Looking for a camera bag - any suggestions?

As the title suggests, I'm looking for a bag for my Nikon D5000 camera. Here are the details:

*Currently just the stock lens, but with room for 1 (maybe 2) more
*Backpack type as I want it use it while skiing, walking or cycling.
*Enough room for a packed lunch/drinks and maybe some light clothes (e.g. waterproof)
*Waist-strap and sternum-strap would be useful

I've been looking mostly at Lowepro as the selection near me is not very good (I'm in Japan and quite far from the big cities like Tokyo, Osaka etc). The main ones I've been considering are the Fastpack 250/350 or the CompuDaypack.

Any suggestions or what do you all use?

I LOVE my Lowepro NatureTrekker AWII, but it's a bit huge. Consider a Kata R102.

I've got the lowepro slingshot 200 and love it. It's not a backpack, but does seem very secure when walking/hiking. Has a sternum strap too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll probably go for my original idea of Lowepro Fastpack 250 or 350 for space for the long bike rides/walks, but also get a second bag (probably the Slingshot) for an about-town-and-taking-photos bag.

Just need to go to the shop and try them on to make sure I'm comfortable wearing it while cycling...
