Looking for a black 19" CRT

LCD is out of question, and I need a new monitor very very badly. Current monitor is a Sony Multiscan 200ES from 1995 or so.
21" seems to be twice as expensive as 19", so i'm going with the latter.
Black monitor is preferred but not mandatory. Most good models seem to come in black anyway.

Here are 2 I am looking at. They are the same price, though I haven't seen much difference in the specs.

Are there any other monitors I can look at? $300 is my budget, but I can extend that if needed.

Playable 1600x1200 is mandatory. I don't see any reason on upgrading to anything less.

yeah just bought the 17 inch version of that NEC your lookin at. I hear Viewsonic clarity really isn't that good, and NEC is top-notch. I'd testify to that, since I went to Staples, Best buy, anc circuit city and NEC just looked a lot better.

Thanks for the input. Another option I have is the a 21" samsung 1100df on FSFT forums for $360, which does look appealing.

Now if anyone is good at math:

What is the % area difference between a 19" and a 21"?

i have the p95f+B and I think it's great. I don't have any problems with clarity (especially not in games) the text isn't spectacular, but I think it's highly acceptable. have I seen better? yes...but for games and video, this monitor is great. sharp colors, great geometry, etc. so unless you're doing text editing for 8 hours a day on it, you won't be disappointed. I would bet that the NEC is nice as well...they're known for quality though i've never owned one.

I did have to RMA my first P95f though...but when i talked to the tech support guy he was surprised to learn that I had a problem with it...he said they have a really really low failure rate with this model.

with both of 'em being the same cost though, i guess it's just a judgement call...now you've got two people saying that both monitors are pretty good...

it's tough to find a p95f to see in person...most of the viewsonics in places like best buy and compusa are the cheapo line. for some reason they seem to have a better selection of higher-quality NEC monitors. though at the time i got a great deal on the viewsonic so that's why i picked it up (i paid about the same as newegg has it for now last september).

i'd say about $100 price difference. I paid $149 (17"), where you would pay $249 for your 19". seems like $50 an inch as the basic math rule. Also, i almost bought a samsung, but NEC just looked sharper and was worth the extra $30.
