I'm graduating very soon and I'm looking to move to Chicago. I have a BS in Biomedical Engineering; the curriculum is very similar to Mechanical Engineering.

Are there any medical devices company in the Chicago area? I've already applied to Abbott Laboratories.

I have seen plenty of S/W positions in the Medical equipment field advertised for that area over the years.

Start browsing the job boards ASAP

GE Healthcare has a huge research center for imaging devices about an hour north in Milwaukee.

That's worth a look.

Well I'm applying to other places besides Chicago too, but I'm focusing on Chicago because my ex-gf is there and we broke up due to the long distance. I want to restart something. Plus, it has the big-city feel that I've been craving.

Thanks for the Baxter lead...I just applied. And I'll look into GE Healthcare.

Letting emotions drive your professional career is not a good thing.

They have an office in Indiana too - if you're looking for something in Indy, I can pass your resume on.

I live in Ohio...anywhere else is a step up from where I am now. Chicago has that extra bonus of possibly restarting a relationship with my ex, but I want to go there regardless.
