looking for a big screen TV

My buddy is in the market for a TV and his buget is $1200 to $1500. He just got a house and is not flexible but the buget. I have been out of the loop for a few years. So .... DLP, HD ready ect ... Any advice is welcomed.

What's the viewing distance?

Does he have a light controlled room?

One word: CostCo

I'd go for a 42" DLP which is around $1499

If space is a concern I'd go with a 32, 37 or 42" LCD.

Sony 34" Widescreen HDTV CRT. If he doesn't want anything that big, than wait for the Syntax Olevia 37" HDTV to go on sale.

Any info on the seating distance yet? If he's 10 feet+ away and is looking for a cinematic experience, I think front projection is the way to go.

But I never told you to Google it. I was saying that all of these TV threads are just as bad as all the Google threads.
