looking for a bed

I was just in IKEA yesterday. I picked up two pieces of Hopen bedside tables for $79 each. I wanted the cheaper ones but they don't match the "medium brown" colour of Hopen.

The bed frame that you want is similar to Hopen or MALM frame at IKEA. Is that the actual colour that you want? I don't recall seeing any black frames. I remember spending 289 or somthing close to that for my king sized frame.

And I ordered a Balisier(sp?) Serta Eurotop mattress (only) for $750 shipped from Samsclub (in 2-3 weeks).

dont have the entire mattress cos they're really expensive, but i have a TempurPedic mattress pad that is wonderful.... much cheaper than buying the mattress and just as good (plus easier to clean)

like a black platform bed. doesn't need to be that one specifically. just somethign cool like that, which will look good without a dust ruffle and doesn't need a box spring

I still don't think you should choose Ikea over eurway. The buiuld qualities are immensely different. They have roughly the same number of beds to choose from (at least the same number of decent ones IMO). The ikea stuff is made very, very, very cheaply. It isn't finished uniformly (if at all) and, in addition to feeling cheap, it looks cheap, and eurway's really doesn't. Plus eurway delivery is, if I recall correctly, much cheaper than ikeas - they have a fixed price regardless of how much furniture you buy. The eurway furniture is much, much better in terms of build quality and finish, plus the stores are a little bit more manageable and the staff are pretty helpful.

just went by ikea on my way home... i swear no one in sweden is over 4 feet tall. not a single bed there came up to my knees... i guess that is what happens when you're not using a box spring... seems like they were just putting a mattress where there should be a box spring and a mattress, so there wasn't any height.

anyways, I just moved into my apartment recently and was looking for one of those Platform beds too. I went thru Eurway and other contemporary stores, but most of them are quite expensive. (i didn't find Dania though, and their stuff is GREAT!)

i dunno when the sales are. usually pretty decent (like half off). i don't think they ever have a store wide sale, just sales on particular items.


that furniture place isn't bad. i think i'm just going to have to look at some stuff though, you don't really get a feel for the size online
