These people are not very delicate with items so they need to be built tough.

-ability to download audio to device via computer (preferably via USB cable)
-ability to delete audio from device via computer and download new audio
(like an MP3 player)
-3-5 hours playback
-rugged--dust, water, and frequent dropping are the main issues here
-solar powered or crank powered
-simple to use (few buttons)
-quality playback with loud volume (crowd of 30 able to hear fairly well)
-< $30 per unit
