Looking for a 80mm to 120mm duct

So you paid a bit more and got the aluminum adapter that I linked to earlier... Nice... Also good to have someone post that actually uses it on a heatsink and can give some real world findings.

Ok, I just looked at the Alpha 8942 and my 8045 is the EXACT same except a little taller and made for AMD. They have the same setup (copper insert and al fins) and both have that little silver thing that fits between the fan and the HS (is that the intake cover?). Thanks!

These are what I am looking at...

Panaflo 92mm M1A
120mm Dapener kit
Acrylic 80 to 92mm adapter

I those will help my noise some, especially the larger but quieter CPU fan. I am going to try my alpha in 'blow' mode for a while and see what the temps do compared to 'suck'. These with my NV silencer (whenever I get it) will hopefully get me to that point where I am very happy with the noise and temp performance.

Hoss, that adapter is going in the wrong direction, I believe... If you want to use a larger fan (92mm) on your heatsink you'll want the 80mm to 92mm adapter... Typically, they list the bottom size then top size... What do you plan to use the dampener item on? Honestly, I've found the products that claim to dampen noise from vibration yeild little to no difference when it comes right down to it. Unless you screw your fans in loose, you shouldn't need such an item. I've always made sure the fans were screwed down tight, and have 0 felt/heard vibrations from them. I'd try that before getting the dampener item...

If you look at the adapter it is for a 80mm to 92mm conversion, not the other way around. It would be kinda silly for a computer-mod and cooling to sell something that would hurt your cooling, not help it.

I actually read some reviews on the dampeners that say they work fairly well. People are also commenting on how the rubber screw things on the lanboy and the sonata help quiet the fans down. I do have my case fans screwed in super-tight (almost stripped one completely as I was going so hard) but it can't hurt to try it for only $6.

I guess my eyes were tired last night... I just looked at a larger version of the image and it looks like it could work... It's easier to tell on the aluminum ones, since you can't see through the material itself.

It's all good, though you did have me going for a min there. I was like "What the heck!?!? I hope thats not reverse..."
