I have yet to see them at this magical price point yet. Maybe in a month or so for the christmas rush? $280 and $300 is just too much for these cards at this point in time I think. I was looking at the x800gto2, but the drastic price gouging has really pissed me off, and the only game I'm really going to be playing is Quake 4, so I'm better off with nvidia in this respect anyway.

Not to mention the fact that the X800GT/O/2 are quickly becoming out of stock as they were only ATI's left over chips. Anyway, I'd see wait a little while longer for more 6800GT price drops. I'm not really sure what happens around Christmas time, but my guess is that the prices will go down. What are you using right now?

Ok, 'gouging' is $6/gallon for gas after a disaster. Raising the price on a limited quantity product that's selling out much faster than you can get it from your supplier is just prudent business practice.

Sapphire is going to have a great quarter. ATI, not so much. Expect great deals on more ATI 'refurbs' shortly.
