Looking for a 5.25" bracket adapter

Hi,

I've bought an AsusP8P67 EVO mobo, and it comes with a nice rear bracket for 2x USB3.0 ports.

Although it is a nice addon, I really don't need more ports on the back, and I have no USB3.0 ports on the front.

So I thought that maybe there is some 5.25" front plate adapter to install a rear bracket on the front of a case.

Is there something around? (Being a 5.25", maybe it could even fit 2 brackets, but for me one is enough)

If not, I'll have to cut out and adapt one 5.25" plastic cover to install the USB3.0 bracket. That way I don't need to pay for an extra front USB3.0 adapter.

Thanks.

Sorry, disregard my original post...at first I thought you were looking for a 5.25 to 3.5 converter.

The Asus p8p67 Deluxe comes with a front 3.5" adapter for its USB 3.0 ports, so I would contact Asus to see if they will sell that part separately.

If you can get that, and your tower doesn't have an internal 3.5" bay, you would need something like this. The price is justified imo by Silverstone's high quality aluminum. I'm sure you can find a cheap plastic converter too if that better suits your needs.

Yes, I want something like what comes with the deluxe version ... but it's a too pricey mobo for getting that front panel.

Since the EVO comes with the rear bracket, it would be great to put it in front with an adapter.

It's strange if such adapters don't exist, because there are some hardware that provides ports for the back, but accessing from front it's easier.

As far as I know, I believe the bracket must be connected to chassis metal for proper ground connection, correct? If I mod a front 5.25" plastic cover, I must wire the bracket to the chassis then.

Thanks.

cant u take a usb2.0... Gut it out by removing the screws... and then take your usb 3.0 and put it in the 2.0 shell?

Since all u need is the front holding plate?
