Looking for a 46"+ 1080P LCD/Plasma on the cheap

I am looking to get rid of my 62" DLP and get a flat panel display. I will probably only be able to get $500-$600 out of mine, so I am looking to keep it somewhat cheap. No more than $1,000, but preferably even less, like $800-$900. Are there any good deals on 46" 1080P plasma or LCDs? Walmart had a 50" Sanyo on clearance last night for $700 but it is only 720P.

I can get a 50" 1080p Samsung plasma at Fred Meyer (Northwest chain of stores) for $999. Some of the 50" Panasonics are right around there, too. You can get the 720p version of the same tv for $749. Any of them will most likely be light years ahead of the Sanyo.

Depending on the distance you are sitting from the TV you may not notice a difference between 720p and 1080p. If you don't have a blu-ray player, you may not notice a difference even if you are within a normal HDTV viewing distance.

You should be able to find a 50" Plasma under $1000 (1080p) pretty easily. Your biggest regret will be downsizing from 62" to 50" (or smaller)
