I’m looking to upgrade to a 27”/1440 monitor from a 24”/1080p monitor in the coming month or two. My current setup uses 2 Dell U2417H monitors: both are used for work (PowerPoint, word docs, some need for color accuracy since I review stuff that goes to print), and the primary one, which this new monitor would be, is used only on my desktop (uses: web browsing, some light gaming [BG3, Bioshock Infinite, Uncharted, etc...], and occassional Lightroom editing for photos).
Based on my uses, I think that puts me in IPS territory, and with this upgrade, I figure I may as well try and get a higher refresh rate monitor, if I can (the Dell ones are 60Hz). Budget – I’d be willing to spend between $300-$500. From some research perusing RTings.com and Reddit, it seems like these might be my best choices:
MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD
Asus ProArt PA278CGV (this one seems pretty new, with limited reviews)
Gigabyte M27Q (assuming I can get the newer RGB version, and not the BGR version)
LG 27GP850-B
Does anyone have any input or experience with any of the above, or have a separate recommendation? Thanks!
