I hate playing in 60hz on LCDs in max res.. I play first person shooters, and prefer to play in a minimum of at least 75hz preferably 85 hz.. Anyone have any recommendations?

You realize that refresh rates on LCD's are pretty much a worthless statistic? What makes you hate 60 Hz?

Right. LCDs really do not even have "refresh rates.." That is a CRT measurement of how often the electron beam scans the coated CRT surface thus refreshing the image. LCD pixels are staring - each changes individually. Since display controls are still based on CRT technology, they show a "refresh rate." That is meaningless. No matter what you set it to, it changes nothing.

You might be more concerned with response time for gaming.

Everyone above me is correct. Turn on vsync, or turn up your graphics settings.

Or, if you REALLY REALLY like to brag about an 85Hz refresh rate, go buy a CRT.

I would rather like you to check out the different HP LCD Monitors. You can achieve the desired refresh rate by adjusting the resolution of the monitor.

Preset resolutions-refresh rates

1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz
1600 x 1200 @ 60, 75 Hz
1280 x 1024 @ 60, 75, 85 Hz
1280 x 960 @ 60 Hz
1152 x 900 @ 66 Hz
1024 x 768 @ 60, 75, 85 Hz
800 x 600 @ 60, 75 Hz
640 x 480 @ 60, 75 Hz

did you read the thread at all? or are you just an idiot? LCD's don't have refresh rates. the actual refresh rate of an LCD is much much higher. it is actually the refresh rate of the fluorescent lamp which today can be in the 20khz range.

the 60hz is just a figure the display gives windows so that the driver can still function properly.

Turn on VSync and stop crying. -_- I really doubt you can tell the difference between 60FPS and 75FPS or even 85FPS.
