I've been looking around on Anandtech but all I seem to be seeing is the dell. Any better alternatives?

Thanks in advance.

The Dell is the best one you can get for the price. Last I checked, it was $599 shipped.

Viewsonic has a good 20.1" 16ms panel, but it's $750+.

I'd check out the Samsung at a local retailer first if I were you. I felt that it ghosted noticably, but it's a matter of personal sight...

The 2001FP is a solid panel for most, though you should also try it out before commiting. (sp?)

Samsung 213T.

Cheers!

You gaming with that? Any ghosting?

I only had slight problems with UT2k4 and it was still playable. I enjoy my 213T very much. HL2 runs perfectly fine - as does CS:source.

I have both the 213 and 243 and they both show trails when watching motion. It's the price to pay for better colour. It doesn't really bother me that much. If you're sensitive to it you may want to use another panel or even a CRT.

To me, the advantages of the LCD (for professional use) far outweigh the disadvantages of a CRT so I use the FPD. I don't want to turn this into a CRT vs. LCD war, but since pixel response times were brought up, I just thought I would add this tidbit of info.

I don't know where the term ghosting came from with LCD's but I wish people would stop using it since this is incorrect. Ghosting is actually a condition that exists on all display devices and is caused (mainly in the analogue realm) from an RF anomaly where the signal is reflected back and forth across the transmission medium similar to a standing wave. Since the signal arrives slightly later than the main signal and is weaker, the ghost image appears to the right of the main image. When severe, there can be several images with each successor weaker but visible still. That is what ghosting is

Cheers!
