My fiancee and I are going on a cruise for our honeymoon. The cruise will have WiFi internet access. I have a Nikon D70 digital camera and I want to in effect photoblog from the boat every night.

My hope was that I would just pick up an Eee 900 laptop. $549 pricetag pushed me away from that, 2.5hr battery life and no external battery charger sealed the deal. I'll explain that part in a minute, has nothing to do with the cruise.

One of the things I want out of this is to be able to use it as a long battery life browsing device. My college campus has WiFi in every room, and AC outlets aren't always easily accessible. My current laptop has 3ish hour battery life which is good, but I'm looking for more.

What I'm looking at right now is the Nokia N800. Let me lay out my needs though and see if anyone has any other suggestions:

1) USB Host support. I must be able to link my Nikon D70 to it, to get the pictures off.

2) Long battery life (4-5hour+) or cheap, externally rechargable batteries (N800 batts are like $10/pc, since they're cell phone batteries)

3) WiFi a must, prefer Bluetooth

4) Good web browser

Well, look like the only concern you have is the power since the rest of them are pretty much standard.
So if you are not concern about size then just buy one (or may be two) of these

Portable Power

and then pick whatever laptop you like :)

macbook air?

has a one usb 2.0 port, wireless N, bluetooth 2.1, and can dual boot to windows and osx.

the only downside is that the dvd-rw is $100 extra and the usb to ethernet is $50 (i think)...not to mention that the starting price is 1799 (1699 with student discount).
