looking for '73 ford falcon prices... *UPDATE** now want ford torino, same year abouts..

for my car.

In reference to this thread.

i did some looking around, and found that the Mad Max car is a modefied 73 ford falcon aussie only edition. since i want this as a standard driver, i cant use an aussie only edition, so i want the american version. 😛

still, i can modify a lot of it to be similar to the aussie edition in appearance and functionality, only difference being where the driver sits on which side of the car.

so im looking for a price on a junker 70-72 ford Torino. i will be replacing most the parts inside. i will even be changing the engine to something bigger, better, and much much more beastly. 😀

i also need to know costs on parts like a huge supercharger sticking out the hood. 😛 you know, the important stuff 😉

im hoping to get a working car for under $12,500. if not, under 14,000. if not that either, ... damn 😛

oh, one more thing. must be coupe.

there is no 73 ford falcon american edition

get a 60's to early 70's american muscle car

or how about a 92 or 93 ford t-bird or mercury cougar with 5.0 V8 beef it up a little

in the usa 1969 or maybe early 70
that falcon maybe a different ford under a different name thou
lets see a pic or link showing it

they were claiming it was a '73 ford falcon XB... which was claimed as an aussie only car. hmm... the car was modded so much i doubt it's recognizable as anything... i'll find a pic of a ford falcon XB, instead. 😛

looks like a 70 ford torino (spelling)
or mercury cyclone

the american falcon was a smaller econo car, most were 6 cylinder a few small v8's

damn... hmm, the torinos look interesting.

im only looking for a body and frame with the initial purchase of the car. i might be looking at engine, suspension, and other parts, but the body and frame are what im at first. as i said, the reason im looking for a pre-73 car is that i can do anything i want to it, and wont have to pass emissions. that's one of my reasons.

the crate motors for like a 351, 389, 429, or even 460 might do well in one of those. a 460 would be a beast, though. sure put my teacher's souped up mustang to shame. hmm... rebore to 502, put super stiff suspension in and weigh down the back to get traction. now that would be awesome... 🙂

unsure what your talking about

also look at my mopar link below

eh, i show my ignorance 😛

i thought sedan meant 4 door. 😛

alright, to clarify.

i have the tools and skills to rebuild the car completely, from the ground up. i intend to. no matter what car i buy.

i have every intention of making it look as close as i can get it to the car in Mad Max.

that means a supercharger out the hood

several fake spoilers

has to be a coupe... kinda a little hatchback looking... but not really 😛 EDIT: it's a fastback... dumb me...

i will be doing all the work myself

all i want with this purchase is a reasonable assurance i can find a manual transmission capable of handling 600+ horsepower easily, a car body in some shape, doesnt even have to be in good shape..., and a frame that is in good shape. everything i will be buying. i'll even be making my own guage panel, as close as it gets to what's in the movie. (conversions not included, it's gonna be american units 😛)

im gonna be stripping the car, removing the back seat, and lightening it to hell. it'll have 1 driver seat, 1 passenger seat. and that's it. i'll be installing a roll cage, and several other safety components. this will be a race car, kinda street legal 😛. no, im not gonna bolt the doors closed, though. i do want to be able to get out, too...

i will probably be buying either a crate motor, or rebuilding one myself, from either a 385 or a 460. i will rebore it to what i can. i will not have air conditioning (of course 😛), or power steering (of course 😛). i will probably be replacing the suspension to be a much stiffer suspension... i might even go hydraulic! ... wait, that's pushing it 😛. then i will weight down the back to get lots of traction.

EDIT:

Forgot to mention this has to be a hardtop. i cant stand rag tops, or even vinyl tops. besides that, hard tops arent as heavy as rag tops.

Forgot to mention as well, supercharger out the hood. important here 🙂

so, how much of this you all think i could accomplish for under 12,500?

to do it right may cost over 12 grand

eh, 12 grand is what i get from my father...

if i work, i make 15 an hour, 2 days a week, so i might be able to contribute more...

but what would cost the most would just be the peripherals. you know, shocks, engine components, not the actual engine or parts like that... just various other essential stuff...
