Looking for 3rd party SATA3 for INTEL 520

As title explains i am looking for a SATA 3 controller for Intel 520 i am planning to buy. Is there a good SATA 3 controller that i can pair up with Intel 520?
Considering only good products, with few reliability problems and generally good reviews a lot of them still seem to fall short of SATA 3 spec, they look more like SATA 2.5
I don't feel an urgent need to retire my current system yet, I am running AMD 940 with DDR2 ram and MB which can only support USB2/SATA2, so beside last two i am perfectly fine with it, I just want to upgrade my old SSD to something bigger/faster like INTEL 520 and if I can get away with a 3rd party SATA 3 i would rather do that then buy a new CPU/MR/RAM just to run 520.

Not having a pop, but there have been many many threads on SATA 6Gbps add on cards and unless you are prepared to spend for a decent one, they will all cripple the performance of that SSD.

Here is the latest thread on them and theres a couple of recommendations in that thread. The majority, if not all of the cheaper cards (<$100) are strangled by a controller that cannot saturate 600mb/sec despite being advertised as a SATA 6Gbps card.

My advice and the advice of many would be to put the money you would have to spend on a decent card towards a new CPU, mobo and RAM. You'll also be getting USB3 and native SATA 6Gbps in the process.

Highpoint 2720 is the fastest card below $200(about $160 with the necessary sas to sata breakouts). It uses the Marvell 9485 chip and can run all 8 ports damned close to full Sandforce 22xx spec's.

But.. unless you intend to add more 6G SSD or lots of HDD for fast raided storage later on?(not really a bad idea when you consider that storage speed will be your system's next biggest bottleneck after adding fast OS based 6G SSD to it).. Coup's advice is sound.
