Looking for 3D *only* card

I'm still using my good ol' P2-266 but my Matrox Mystique + Rainbow Runner can't cut it for 3D gaming.

I owned an AGP Voodoo Banshee for a while, but got rid of it because I do a lot of video capture and couldn't share it with my Matrox card.

In the old days, you could buy a 3D only card that overlayed on your main card. Notely the original Voodoo and Voodoo 2.

Are there still cards that do that? Or should I look for an old Voodoo2.

And don't worry, I'm getting myself a new computer in a few weeks, but I'm keeping my old one and still want to get a bit of mileage out of it for those christmas lan parties with classic 3D games.

A voodoo 2 would be a great choice for that system and will run classic games great. I still have 2 in my moms computer with a celeron @ 450 and it still works great.

You can probably find a Voodoo 2 for about $15 or a pair of Voodoo 2's w/SLI cable for less than $40 on the FS/FT forums here. I got a Voodoo 2 SLI setup for $30 shipped from that forum over a year ago.

I bought 4 12MB Voodoo2's for $5 Canadian each as a collector's item. The Voodoo2 is your only choice but it's only going to play old, old games at acceptable frame rates.

You could also buy 3d card that goes to PCI slot. Most operating systems support multiple display adapters.
They probably would not be any faster than two voodoo 2 cards, but they migh support newer games better.
