Looking for 2 1TB disks for RAID 0.

I’m about to purchase 2 1TB disks for a RAID 0 array for my new rig. Right now I’m looking at the Samsung F3 HD103SJ and the WD 1001FALS Caviar black. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

The F3's are fast, run cool, and run quiet. With two of those in RAID0 you'll be approaching 300MB/s sequential read/write. I have a single F3 which i use as a storage drive, and i like it a lot, and read/write on a single drive is 147MB/s, max.

From what i've heard, the WB Blacks are also fast, but i haven't used one.

Thanks for the info Wendy. The blacks are indeed fast and they come with a 5 year warranty. OTOH power consumption is higher and they are noisier than the F3s.

I have 2 F3s, they aren't in Raid 0, but they are damn quick individually. I have never heard them nor do they seem to cause much vibration.
