Hi everyone,

I posted before that I'm looking for 19" widescreen LCD monitor. I've already tried a few monitors and didn't like one.

In addition, I have read anandtech articles and understand 8 bit vs 6 bit panels. All of this is getting frustrating and I need help picking a right monitor.

I'm looking for non-glossy screen. Price is not a concern. Quality matters. I'm a CASUAL gamer nothing hardcore but I do play FPS time to time however not too often. I'm more of an RTS gamer.

Here is what I'm looking at. I need more options so if you guys know of better monitors, please let me know. I need a high quality 19" widescreen. Willing to spend upto $300.

Samsung 931BW
Samsung 931CW

What is the difference between 931CW & 931BW and 906BW from Samsung?

Thanks.

I read that thread. Not many widescreens listed. I need a 19" widescreen. Does anyone have a specific recommendation to make? Non-glossy please.

I've been reading articles such like that all this time and ended up nowhere since all of that is confusing (TN/8bit/6bit/2ms/5ms). I want user feedback and "your" recommendations based on your experiences. I will just go for what people suggest here (so please be careful) since it has been over 2 weeks and I'm still looking for LCD monitor. :(

I understand that I may need to make some trade-offs but I have mentioned my usage and my maximum budget (which is $300). Give me some recommendations and I'll go buy one. The reason I'm willing to spend upto $300 on LCD monitor is because I will be keeping it for a long time to come (assuming nothing goes wrong with the monitor).

You don't want a 19" LCD. You want a 24" LCD. Wait for one of the deals on the 24" ones - they handily hit your price range.

Or maybe less extreme and go for a 20-22" widescreen. For $300 you could get a very decent monitor with a much more enjoyable resolution... yet won't destroy your gaming performance as a 24" might.

24" or 22" will be too big. I'm solely looking for 19". Can someone make some recommendation? Don't just mention the manufacturer, provide full make and model and I'll look into getting one.

What do you guys think of Acer AL1916Wabd which was often recommended on Anandtech guides compared to Samsung 931BW. Are they both 8 bit panels? Do 2 ms and 5 ms have a big difference? I need some opinions and help :).
