Some Eurocom, Sager,Clevo, Origin, and Dell Precision m6400's. claim that they support 64gb of ram. The only way for them to do that is with 16GB (4 x 16GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM's.

After spending hours on Google, it seems like these 16GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM's don't exist.

Does anyone here have any clue as to if they are available and where?

Wikipedia: The DDR3 standard permits DRAM chip capacities of up to 8 gibibits, and up to 8 "packages" of up to two chips per DDR3 DIMM, for a total theoretical maximum of 16GiB per DDR3 DIMM. Because of a bug in Intel CPUs, first fixed in Ivy Bridge-E (released in 2013), Intel CPUs only support up to 8GiB DIMMs; AMD CPUs correctly support 16GiB DDR3 DIMMs.

This would explain why these haven't hit the market. Also, of course, that most laptops these days use U-series CPUs, which support a maximum of 16GB total. It might be that OEMs have access to specially made 16GB SODIMMs for workstation builds, but these just wouldn't be viable in the consumer market.

Edit: Just for the heck of it, I looked up the service manual for the Precision m6400. This laptop, released in 2008, supports a maximum of 16GB of DDR3-1066. Link. Where did you get the 64GB number?

Back in 2012 when I was looking for desktop replacement laptop's there was a version of the m6400 that offered 64gb of ddr3 memory. When I called Dell about it, they said it could be months before they had the 16gb so-dimms', so I guess the 16gb so-dimms' never came out.

I think this was a big deal with Eurocom and Sager/Clevo as well, people looking at those laptop's buy them for a reason, It's not to run Microsoft office.

I found the data sheet for the first m6400's but not the revision that was sold after 2012.

It does look like one manufacturer was or is at least planning on coming out with them:

Everyone thought that there would be another density increase with a new process. But then I think the fires hit Hinex's supply of memory. After that all the mem guys started inflating prices, lowered production off DDR3, and stopped plans for denser chips. They all basically decided on artificially keeping memory prices high until DDR4 went mainstream.
