I impulse bought Lenovo MIIX 700 for 600 from Costco. While it's OK, I am wondering if there are other windows based tablets under $600 to consider?
Main uses would be reading PDFs, watching movies. Possibly some light Visual Studio work.
I like the detachable keyboard/cover and would strongly prefer the tablet to have the Lenovo version vs the thick/hard plastic of Transformer windows based series.

Thank you!

You got that for 600$?! That's like.. 2 times cheaper than here in EU.

I seriously doubt there is anything remotely as good in that price range.

For basic stuff (reading PDFs, watching movies, etc) I'd think an ASUS Transformer would work great. My brother and I got my mom the 11.6" T200TA version for this past Christmas and it's a pretty sweet system for $200. I'm not sure how Visual Studio would do on it, though.

Is there something lacking in the Lenovo? I think you will be hardpressed to find a similar setup for that price, it was a pretty good sale.

1. It crashes with Chrome, although, knock on wood, after a bunch of updates it seems to be stable.
2. I was a bit annoyed, as the tablet came without functioning blue tooth. I had to manually install updated drivers to get it to work.
3. Seeing if there is anything better out there.
I actually got Surface 3 (plain) on order to compare to MIIX.

Surface 3 will be slower, it uses Atom, the Lenovo uses Core M. The biggest issue with the Surface 3 is the eMMC storage, very slow. Still, it is pretty nice, I like the size, the 12" tablets are too big for me.
