Looking cool or being comfortable?

Seems quite popular here in SoCal for some drivers to drive with all their windows down even through the hottest of times. One hand at one o'clock with a slight lean still trying to look cool in 100 degree weather.

F that. I'll roll down my windows for a minute or two to air it out and it's straight a/c after that.

The stupid lean, drivers seat laying against the back thigh rest, etc. is stupid...but windows open is my favorite way to drive. I hate the AC and avoid at as much as possible. That being said...if it is hot/humid out, a lot of times I succumb. 100 degree dry heat doesn't sound horrible...but 100 degree humid heat is death to me.

I prefer driving with the windows down, but then again I've never had a car with AC. If you did, and it was good cold AC, you're stupid for not using it and having the windows down if it is very hot.

Can't have the A/C blowin' because it decreases performance of the v-tech yo.

It's been my experience that how well someone drives is directly proportional to how far they can see over their steering wheel.

I always drive with the windows down if it's at all warm. Fresh air feels good man, and I don't mind the heat as long as it's not crazy humid.

im in arizona and i prefer the windows down most of the time. sometimes after i have a particularly long day working outside ill crank the AC up, but for the most part its 2-60 air. two out of my three kids prefer windows down to the AC as well. the oldest daughter hates her hair hitting her face and always wants the AC on lol.

Really, how come? I've never heard of anyone hating A/C before :hmm:

Most cars have crappy AC. You can never get it right...too cold...not cold enough...cranking the air on one part of your body whatnot. Now newer cars with auto-climate control are a lot better in general (I drive my wife's A4 with the windows up all the time)...but I still dislike AC. I like to hear the engine and I like the "fresh air" (I know it is less fresh than AC air...but whatever...it's perception). I just like the windows down.

But I don't sit in some gangsta position with my body cocked to one side. I drive in correct position so that my wrists can bend over the top of the steering wheel with my back/shoulders properly against the seat.

Having windows down is epic +1, AC only when its too hot outside to deal with it.

One of the best, most memorable drives I had was driving through santa rosa in my friends Jeep Wrangler in the summer with a soft top. I used to hate those things, but that one drive convinced me that I need to own one of them at some point in time.

Granted I'm in Wisconsin, but even when it's mid 90's and high humidity I drive with the windows down. I love the heat and hate the cold, I can drive with my windows up the other 8 months out of the year when it's below freezing. I do the same at home, I usually avoid running AC and just open windows & runs a couple fans.

I never got to properly transition to the summer temps this year so I've been in love with a/c, but previously I rarely used it. Creates a noticeable drag on the 2.0l flat four 🙁
