Looking at upgrading my HDDs

Maybe in 2 months at the most. I had read that the 640 GB WD were good to use in RAID. Also, I was going to look at upgrading my 320 GB to a 1 TB. I could just grab another 320 and raid those and then grab the 1 TB drive.

I am looking for some helpful advice and suggestions. I would like to expand my pc internally a little bit more and not spend a bunch of money (prefer to be around 300 total on 3-4 drives).

Thanks in advance.

The Samsung F3's have a 500GB platter and are generally the fastest drives out there. Unfortunately, because of this, it's almost always out of stock at Newegg and when they do get shipments in, they go out of stock quickly.

If you don't have any reservations about Seagate, the 7200.12's also have a 500GB platter, but are just a tiny bit slower than the Samsungs.

This one?

They also sell a 1 TB drive along the same lines.

Yep, those are it. Alternatively, Amazon has the 500GB one in stock for the same price, but the 1TB model seems to be $10 higher.

The 1TB model seems to come with a magazine subscription that you can refuse to get $10 back, making it the same price as Newegg ($85).

Seagate is one of the worst right now, and I don't buy HDDs from Newegg anymore. They don't know how to package and ship them. Zipzoomfly is my recommendation. I'd wait for a deal on some WD Black drives.

The Samsung F3 drives are really amazing. I have 2 in my machine, they are much faster than all my other drives easily. They are also pretty quiet as well.
