Well the time is coming up to renew my 2 year contract with Verizon. I wish had managed to hold on to my unlimited data from my original plan but for some reason I couldn't get the methods mentioned to work for me. That's in the past and of course there's no way to get the unlimited plan again. So now I'm looking at what phone to replace my Samsung S3 with. Overall I've been happy with the phone but I made the mistake of taking the 4.3 software update instead of loading my own ROM onto the phone. I'm now stuck with the 4.4 ROM that's on the phone and the associated bloatware apps that I don't like. So here's what I'm looking for in an upgraded phone:
- Needs to be able to have an alternate ROM loaded onto it ie no locked bootloader (other than safestrapping) as I don't want to deal with the bloat again. I remembered with my Droid Incredible and I'd prefer to have the new phone be like that experience
- Needs to have microSD card support. I like to load a lot of music onto my phone so typically I will wipe out the onboard memory on most phones quickly
- IPS screen would be preferable but I'd be fine with a good quality AMOLED if need be
- Screen size needs to be at 4.5" minimum, I have large hands so having a large screen poses no issue to me
- Long battery life would be greatly desired
