I am looking into buying a crotch rocket here in the near future.. Anyone out there got one and have advise on preformance based on brands? I am looking at a 2000 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R (636cc).
 
depends on many things. how long have you been rideing? how often have you been on a bike?

at least you are looking at a 626cc. to many tards want the 1000cc bikes as a starter.


anyway also get a nice rideing jacket, boots, gloves and helmet.


i have never ridden the zx6r. But i have a honda 4f and have many other bikes growing up. but i have heard good things about that bike.

Very true. If you have never ridden a bike, get a 250-500cc Ninja or an older 600cc. Otherwise, great.

I have been riding for a little over 2 years.. My first bike was a Kawasaki 250, then I bought a Kawasaki 500 and liked it but Im growing out of it... now I want the ZX6R, or a Yamaha R6.. Or possible the CBR 600RR... what do ya think?

I had a kawasaki 550 spectre. man that bike kicked ass.

anyway out of those i would go CBR. but im partial to them. You might think about a CBR F4 (or F4i?). or even a F3. you can get a good one cheap and that is still more bike then you will need.
 
I think you are under the impression that I am a new rider... I grew up with dirt bikes and things like that, I am safe and far from stupid when it comes to motorcycles. However, Im not looking to by a 900+ bike... The highest I would ever go would be a 750 but I will be fine with a 600 (or 636)

growing up around and actively rideing are two diffrent things. you stated you have been rideing 2 years. that is NOT a long time.

The Kawasaki is the 'fastest' one out of all those because they cheated 636 != 600 😛... the new Gixxers are just coming into the showrooms... next gen R6 should be coming in next year or so... the CBR... is well the CBR. Fast could mean a lot of things... like hotsh*t idiots going 100+ on freeways which frankly does not impress me one bit 🙁
 
No I agree, by riding I mean riding sport bikes.. Im just saying I have motorcycle experience beyond 2 years... But you are right I know 2 years isn't a long time

I would love to have one of those crotch rockets. I always hear people say that those things kill people, but my thinking is, if I hit something going 120mph+, my hard on will allow me to pole vault over the obstacle. 😛

he's been riding for a while.

If you want the top of the line, look into fuel injected bikes.
The two that come to my mind is an F4i or GSX-R600

I've worked on an f4i engine before and those things are sweet. If you want to really squeeze some power out of it, get the MOTEC ecu with their fuel mapping. The only thing i know about the gsxr is that they use two butterfly in sequence on their throttle bodies...something about air mass velocity 😕
 
If you want a 636, buy it! You might want to consider Gap insurance, in addition to your normal insurance.
