Looking at GTX 660TI 2048MB - Worth it?

It's definitely going to offer a nice performance boost. I'd recommend looking at reviews of various 660ti cards to see which one runs cool and quiet, since some cards in general have loud fans and run hot.

If you get a decent brand like Gigabyte, MSI or Asus, chances are they will NOT run 'hot' whatsoever, Kepler is not exactly a chip which tends to run hot. However, you might want to consider a GTX 760 instead, not because it's "better" (it's really more or less the same card)...but because a (new) GTX 760 is actually a few bucks cheaper than the 660 TI. Otherwise 660 TI/760 are good, solid cards with good performance for the $.

First off, I don't recommend buying from OCUK. They don't have such a good reputation.

Don't buy a card with a reference cooler, they are noisy and run hot. +1 to Asus 660 Ti from dabs.

Compared to your 5850 though, even a regular GTX 660 would be a huge jump in performance: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/660?vs=512.
MSI 660 £147 or Gigabyte 660 £152

I started buying from them when I got my old FX-51 chip from there.
Been fine ever since?

If your asking about the 660ti and fead set on it. yes it would be a very great upgrade for you. But if you can come up to a 760, i think it would be all the better.

The 660 Ti linked by YEPP is 188 gbp. The cheapest 760 with a decent cooler is 215 gbp in the same shop. So no they are not the same price, and in fact the 660 ti is better performance for the price.
