Looking at getting a A7n8x

and 2 512MB sticks of DDR 3200 (400MHz) ram. How does that setup look? I am hoping to get my hardcore game on you know. Im not so sure on the motherboard. It looks all right. If I could find something that would allow the RAM and the processor to work without the built in Audio and LAN I would probably get that. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I could do differently? I dont really want to get a AMD 64.

It's a good motherboard that I own, but I would probably have been happier with an Abit NF7-S. My biggest complaint is that the board couldn't reach 200MHz FSB until a new bios came out. If you're not going to be overclocking, it doesn't really make a difference. If you are going to oc, I'd suggest getting PC 3500 ram (433MHz).

BTW, the onboard LAN on these boards is great. The sound is good also. I wouldn't disable the onboard sound unless I had an Audigy2 or the like to use in it's place, but others have said that they like a SB Live! better than the onboard. I think you should give it a try before you get a sound card. Peace.
