My old monitor might be toast will know for sure when I replace the AC adaptor. I have ASUS ROG Strix GeForce® GTX 1060. My budget for a new monitor is $200. I was looking at G2590PX, G2590FX, and Acer XFA240 bmjdpr. I remembered TN monitors were not as good as IPS monitors. So I started looking at AOC 24G2 and Acer VG240Y Pbiip. Them 2 does not support G-SYNC though. Should I try to find a monitor that supports G-SYNC? Does G-SYNC make a big difference? Are there any good IPS monitors that support G-SYNC that is $200 or less? Here is something else I was thinking about if I don't game all the time or play FPS games a lot should I even get a gaming monitor?

at your price point i dont think u can get ips and gsync. 300+ might get you close. the 1060 only breaks 60fps in a few games at 1080p its OK but when are you planning to upgrade the card might tell you which monitor to buy, im a sucker for using big screen 4k tv's. bought 2x 42" seiki 4k tv for 200/225 5 years ago? really loved using them so i upgraded to a 55/65" 4k tv.

I am not going to upgrade my video card any time soon. Did you mean that the 1060 only gets higher than 60 FPS at 144Hz? I get above 100 FPS in all the games I play now with a 60 Hz monitor. How can you find out how good your video card can handle higher refresh rates?

24G2U is G-Sync compatible.

Very nice and perhaps a real dang good upgrade over what i used to think was a good monitor the 24'' Dell U2412m. I used to love that monitor minus 16:10 bars in 16"9 content. Ended up selling it during some hard times some years ago This AOC really looks like a upgrade in every way. Oh for $209 Amazon has the 27'' version. I prob would prefer the 24'' cause i am on a el cheapo 27'' 1080p aoc 2ms tn atm in need of a desperate upgrade. I see the pixels at 27'' but using a variety of various 24'' i find those nice at least for 1080p. Now if they made a 25'' 144hz 1440p with ips i would prob be in heaven. :)
