It appears to me the only way to go is with the new Winchester.. but is the 3200 or 3500 worth it over the 3000?

I dont mind spending for the 3500, so if its yielding much better overclocks.. by all means, its mine.

And the price is right, $300 for that CPU (if it overlocks any better than a 3000+).. totally worth it in that case to me.
use it at stock now, overclock it when its showing its age.. if it dies.. screw it by that time dual core AMD will be out.

Thanks CPU experts.

Your best bet is the 3200+ but I got a 3000+ and it's worked out fine (running at 2.6GHz). They all seem to top out around 2.6-2.7GHz on air with sane voltages.

It depends, I think the price difference between a 3000+ and a 3500+ oem is about a hundred bucks? Most people on xtremesystems have their later week 3000+ chips running at 2.7ghz+ and beyond; I believe they were week 50 chips.

I just bought a 3500+ 90nm oem from monarch thinking I would be able to get a late 40 week yield, but I ended up getting week 41. But it's prime blend stable at 11x240=2640 @ 1.55volts, which is decent. My temps are 37c idle, and about 50c load, though I've been hearing I shouldn't spread the AS5 on the IHS, and instead just put a drop in the center, so I might need to reapply.

3200+ is pretty close to the 3500+, at least a ZZF.

But now the question is, does the 3500 top out just as high as the 3000? Or does it go higher?

I've considererd the 4000+, but it seems to not be nearly as good as deal as these 3000+

if you got a 3000+@2.6ghz you should be at 4000+ speeds.. and cooler/cheaper to boot.

Now i need the best overclocking boards for NF3 (AGP) and NF4 (PCIE).

Id get the 3000+, its 9 multiplier is really all you will need...atleast thats the way it is with mine [s754 tho] and i have multi up to 10, but fsb/ram dividers nulify multipliers imo.
